YOUR DOG AND SCANDIA COTTAGES

      We understand how much a dog can be a part of the family and vacationing without them would not seem right.  We’d like you to be able to keep bringing your dog to Scandia, but we do have to set down some common sense rules to help us with our cleaning and for the comfort of future guests.

 1.   Your dog must get along with other people and dogs that might be in other cottages.

 2.   We prefer that the dog goes with you whenever you leave the cottage, but if that is not possible, please stick around outside of the door for a few minutes to make sure it is behaving.  (No barking or scratching.)  If these occur, please take them with you. 

 3.   For the comfort of your pet and future animals in your cottage, we require that all pets staying at Scandia Cottages be up to date on their flea treatment. 

 4.   For the safety of your dog and others, please do not leave your dog off -leash unattended on the property. 

 5.   Please walk your dog in the grassy areas around the cottages to do his duty and then clean up immediately.  Please dispose of waste in the dumpster, or flush down the toilet (not the plastic.)

 6.   In a perfect world for us, your dog would not be allowed on the furniture or beds, but habits kept at home cannot be broken here.  Please bring a familiar blanket or rug to place on the furniture where the dog will lie.  If your dog sleeps with you, please remove our blankets, quilts or spreads and replace with your own bedding.  We do not have extras for every bed, and it takes much too long to wash these items on cleaning day.  Failure to follow these rules may result in the loss of some of your security deposit.

 7.   If you dog does any noticeable damage to the cottage, the cost of repairs will be deducted from your security deposit.  If the expense of cleaning and/or repairs exceeds this deposit, you are liable for the full amount.
